GX series connectors are quite commonly referred as aviation connectors or microphone connectors (more friendly as mic connectors). We do doubt that these are proper aerospace grade connectors... In a matter of hand, hell no, they for sure are not, but they do still make an awesome microphone connector. These are used as microphone connector quite commonly among hobby radios, such as LA radios, CB radios and other HAM radios.
