Lithium Ion battery BMS LT16SN5-1-120A-HYT

Battery management system or otherwise known as BMS is responsible for managing your battery.

In general BMS handles the following thigs:

• Charging and discharging of the battery
• Protects for overcurrent when charging and discharging
• Balances battery cells when charging
• Protects against charging in sub freezing temperatures and when battery is too hot
• Protect against over discharging on a cell level (ie cuts out load when battery level is too low preventing battery damage)

BMS technical details:

• Max nominal output current:
  • 120A
    • Could be increased by adding more K100E10NE FET's
    • Remember to add heatsink, this unit does not have one
• Number of series cells:
  • 16x has been used
  • 18x marked for connector on PCB (couple of spots are not in use with the connector)
