A locking cylinder ideal for intermediate stops, emergency stops and drop prevention. Cylinder has manual override for locking mechanism which can be operated even if the air supply is blocked or exhausted, lock release is possible with a simple tool. The fail safe mechanism locks again when the manual override is released. Holding force is equal on either extend or retract.
