Ever wondered how easily a laptop is stolen? If you have, wonder no more, it actually is easy to steal!
Use this steel cable combination lock and tie it down to a secure structural feature (such as nearby railing or table frame) and lock your laptop with the Kensington lock. Ultimately this thing is not super proof, it can surely be bypassed with side pliers, just brutally torn out from the laptop frame or guess/pick the lock combination... But at least someone actually has to have tools with them or be prepared to do some damage to the equipment or spend some time tinkering with the lock. Ie if you are standing on a fair and chatting with someone. Someone is not going to just walk by steal your laptop from behind your back. To put it in other words, this is somewhat efficient deterrent so thieves cant pull a quickie on you, but provided someone has some serious time and privacy with your laptop, it's still going to go.
This kind of a lock is also known as T-lock, Kensington lock or K-slot lock. There is a plenty of appliances which has this small locking slot in them. Most commonly this is used in IT, but we're sure there is other use cases as well. A decent DIY guy makes his own locking slots on what ever he want's to lock down with this.
