CS-mount can house C-mount lense if used 5mm adaptor ring. CS-mount focal point is (the distance between lens and the sensor) 12.5mm and C-mount has 17.526mm in between so this is why 5mm ring is needed when using C-lens in CS-mount.

Just to simplify this:

• CS-mount - CS-lens = ok
• CS-mount - (5mm adapter ring) C-lens = ok
• C-mount - C-lens = ok
• C-mount - CS-lens = no no
