Extra charge for a large package when sending in Finland by Post (> 110cm) or Matkahuolto (> 140cm)

Do you already know, that you are ordering stuff from us, which length goes beyond the dimensions of a regular package? In other words, are you ordering items with over 1.1m length with postal service or over 140cm with Matkahuolto (10cm packaging tolerance is already accounted for in these dimensions)? If so, add this product to your shopping cart when you order. This additional price covers the additional cost of logistic companies and the cost of tinkering a bigger package and materials involved.

Here are the dimensions and services to which the additional fee will providing additional length:

• Posti’s shipping options:
  • Posti normal shipments (does nor require extra charge):
    • 120x60x60cm
  • Posti 16 (pick up from Post) package with large package extra charge:
    • 180x80x60cm
  • Posti 14 (delivered to door) package with large package extra charge:
    • 300x120x60cm
• Matkahuolto’s shipping options:
  • Matkahuolto normal shipments (does nor require extra charge):
    • Any dimension of the package exceeds 150cm or the maximum length and the circumference in total is more than 240cm
  • Matkahuolto bus parcel with large package extra charge:
    • Rod-like shipments which maximum length is 300cm and max volume is 0.5m³

If you have already placed an order in the past and you still want to take care of this for the same shipment afterwards or our customer service has asked you to purchase this product afterwards, follow these steps:
When paying for an order, choose "pick up from the warehouse" as a delivery method. Upon making an order add a comment in the comment field for what order this afterwards purchased additional shippin fee will come for. Order number or free text describing what you ordered is sufficient information for us. This way we know in the warehouse what order this extra charge belongs to.

This long shipment surcharge only covers the shipping of a long package in Finland (including Åland). If you want to order some long goods abroad, please contact our customer service and see what kind of a shipping deal we can arrange for you (price is effected by shipping company, shipping method, packaging size, destination country etc...)

Unfortunately our current web shop can not alter the shipment options automatically based on produt length, so this is the next best thing what we came up to solve this problem.
