TIG welding glass fiber finger protection (sausage guard) XL size *new*

Ever experienced that feeling when your pinky and ring finger start to get at least well-done while welding, as they happen to lean on the welded piece? Well, we certainly have experience with this, so we got one of these TIG finger protectors to safeguard our own digits during welding.

This additional protection for the glove works by folding it and inserting into it pinky or both the pinky and ring finger. The orientation of the protector should have the thicker material layer facing the adversary (the hot metal... ie. outward). With this additional shield, you can endure the heat against metal for a longer time, and in the best case, the whole ordeal of enduring heat ends, and welding might even become quite fun.

We haven't really come up with a better name for these, so we call them "sausage guard".

Technical details of the TIG finger:

• Material:
  • Most likely glass fiber woven fabric tube
• Length of the textile tube when unfolded:
  • ~370mm
• Length of the tube when folded into a finger pocket:
  • ~100mm
• Material thickness:
  • 0.5mm. When folded as a finger protector, it becomes 2.5mm at the hottest spot
• Width of the flattened tube:
  • ~60mm
    • Making a diameter of ~45mm (considering the diameter of the inserted finger)
• Stretchiness/Elasticity:
  • Not much
• Compatibility:
  • Most men and women who weld with TIG/ GTAW. "Them" and "they" people should not really weld... They should do something else.
  • We suppose it works equivalently well with other welding methods as well. TIG welding is one of those which tends to fry your fingers due to the hand's being supported by the material being welded.
