Ceramic tweezers are made from Zirconia (which is Zirconium Dioxide, ZrO₂), which has a superior combination of high strength and flexibility. They have very hard surface, good abrasion and wear resistance, excellent thermal properties, high temperature stability and extreme corrosion resistance. Ceramic tweezers are suitable for handling of components during thermal, chemical and soldering processes.

Some ceramic tweezers key benefits:

• Zirconium Dioxide does not transfer heat very well (typical figure would be around ~2W/°K).
• Zirconium Dioxide tips can withstand high temperatures.
• There is not many substances that tend to stick to Zirconium Dioxide tips.
• Due to points listed above they will suite perfectly for soldering applications and you never solder your tweezers to the actual part!
• Zirconium Dioxide tips do not conduct electricity (Safe... Well safer to poke around electrified things).
• Zirconium Dioxide do withstand various chemicals very well, at least way better than steel.
• Zirconium Dioxide tips have no effect on magnetic field. This does not magnetize parts sensitive to magnetic field and does not interfere with coils... Until you get the steel part too close of course, but just as she said, "use just the tip"
• The tip is rigid and it does not bend easily (which is sometimes bad, but that's why you also have the full metal tweezers right?)
• They are dull = Your coworker has really put an effort to make you bleed with these. Just kidding, it's you who is going to slip with these along the tip of your finger, and still have your skin intact.
• No doubt they are just awesome in every way.
