A pressure sensor measures pressure and converts this information into an electronic signal. The pressure sensor may also be referred to as a pressure transmitter or pressure transducer, but it should not be confused with a pressure switch (which is a pressure-operated switch that clicks at a set pressure value).

This intrinsically safe pressure sensor is suitable for demanding applications. In this context, intrinsically safe does not imply that someone cannot in some way kill some other person with this sensor or be intrinsically inserted into...Certain bodily openings of another person. In this situation the term refers to the fact that the sensor, for example, does not ignite explosive gas mixtures into which it is placed, while operating.

The submersible sensor model is designed for the most demanding level measurement applications, whether at home in a well or in hazardous environmental conditions, such as in a mine. The airtight, welded housing, made of strong, acid-resistant steel with an IP68 protection class, enables use in challenging conditions.
