Thermo Scientific 430122842081 molecular sieve drying trap with 6mm tube connectors

Molecular sieve is used for drying and/or filtering gases. This unit is most likely filled with chambers full of zeolite (or something similar) and by passing gas through it, the internal contents will absorb water and trap larger molecules letting lighter molecules pass. After the molecular trap is saturated the effect will fade/it gets "clogged" and you need to regenerate it. Regeneration can be done by running hot gas through it (ie drying it) and purging the trapped stuff by running gas in reverse.
