Terminal block is used in electrical cabinets and electrical appliances for example between inputs and outputs and also between cabinet's own internal wiring. In addition terminal block allows for easy splicing of signals. Terminal block is a traditional solution for connecting wires and cables. When building electrical cabinets where connections do change often, it is very advisable to use terminal blocks to end up cables which originate from devices. Terminal block is cheaper to replace than the device where the screw cap is broken and in addition it allows to carry signals from appliances with tiny cables and move the connection location in better place, which allows for easier installation for a thick and/or multicore cables.

The terminal blocks equipped with a switch makes it easy to build systems that make it easy to disconnect some parts. For example this makes it easier to troubleshoot the system or to easily enable/disable some of the less commonly used features.
