Typical blade fuse, which can be found pretty commonly in automobiles. This same kind of a fuse can also be encountered for example in one of the following applications:

This fuse type is also known by one of the following names:

This particular fuse operating principle is based on heating of bi-metallic strip, which upon heating under fault condition bends and breaks the circuit. This particular fuse does also reset by itself into working state, ie if your application is a kind of a heavily smoking one when failing... This might not be the best option, since it will keep on smoking some more from time to time. If on the other hand your device/installation is a prototype thing by nature this is a brilliant selection for fuse and you will not become poor after buying fuses constantly. This fuse is rated for 14VDC voltage if you use it with higher voltage the fuse’s arc suppression capabilities might deteriorate and the fuse might not work the expected way. So use them at your own risk in for example with a 24V automotive.

Fuse is slightly higher than traditional fuse! Automatic fuse’s height is 31mm with feet and 24.5mm without the feet (pressed into it’s socket). Because of this not every fuseholder cover will fit back with these fuses.
